Research repo validating Ainfera's Layer 5 — Multi-Protocol Orchestration. Three agents built on three different frameworks communicate exclusively via Google's A2A v1.0 protocol (JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTPS), routed through a unified gateway that enforces circuit breakers, a saga orchestrator, and emits fidelity-aware handoff telemetry.

A2A v1.0 as a universal cross-framework protocol — CrewAI, LangGraph, and plain-Python agents exchange work without native integration.
Agent Cards served at /.well-known/agent-card.json per A2A spec.
Circuit breaker per agent (closed / open / half-open) with 3-failure threshold, 30s timeout, 1-probe recovery.
Saga pattern — execute() + compensate() per step, reverse-order compensation on any failure.
Kill-switch enforceable at gateway level (Redis-backed; hook point exposed).
Context fidelity measurement across every A2A boundary — publishable empirical data on inter-framework context loss.

The Ainfera Gap

This prototype demonstrates what raw A2A can provide, and — just as importantly — what it cannot. The production Ainfera orchestration layer adds:

Kafka canonical internal bus — full event history preserved regardless of what each framework happens to include in A2A parts. LangGraph's node state, CrewAI's task metadata, and every intermediate reasoning step flow onto the bus; the A2A message is the export, not the truth.
Centralised circuit-breaker registry — platform operators see all agent states in one dashboard, not per-service Redis lookups.
Saga state machine with global tracking — not just local compensate(). Enables pause, resume, partial replay, and cross-tenant saga visibility.
Trust scoring (ATS) — every A2A handoff generates behavioural scoring signals, not just log lines. This repo's telemetry/emitter.py is a precursor to that.

SMU research note

scenarios/context_loss_audit.py produces publishable evidence for joint research on Inter-Framework Agent Context Preservation in Heterogeneous Multi-Agent Systems. Target venue: ACM CCS 2027.
