Calendar Management

Use the gcal CLI in this skill's scripts/ folder. It supports Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange / Outlook (Microsoft Graph). Do not call calendar APIs directly from agent code.

CLI location and usage

Path: ~/.cursor/skills/calendar-management/scripts/gcal.py
Run with uv: From the scripts directory run uv run gcal.py ... (e.g. cd ~/.cursor/skills/calendar-management/scripts && uv run gcal.py list --today). uv installs dependencies automatically. See scripts/README.md for one-time OAuth setup.
Output for the agent: Prefer --json when parsing events to present to the user; omit --json for human-readable output to show in chat.

Reading events (primary)

Run the CLI with the appropriate time range. Prefer the user's local timezone when interpreting "today" or "this week."

Multi-account: Use -a NAME for one account, or omit -a to use all accounts from config (events are merged and sorted). When presenting, label events with the account name if more than one account is in use.
Specific calendar: Use -c CALENDAR_ID. User can run uv run gcal.py calendars to see IDs.

Creating events

Command: uv run gcal.py create "Title" "START_DATETIME" "END_DATETIME" [--location "..." ] [--description "..."] [--timezone IANA] [-a ACCOUNT] [-c CALENDAR_ID]
Use ISO or YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM for start/end. Confirm which calendar (and account if multi-account) before creating.

Presenting results

List events in chronological order: start, end, title; if multi-account, add which account/calendar.
For "today" or "this week," use a clear heading; optional grouping by day.
If no events in range, say so explicitly.

Setup (user)

Google: OAuth Desktop credentials in Google Cloud (Calendar API enabled), credentials JSON in ~/.config/gcal/ and referenced in config.json; run once to authorize (e.g. uv run gcal.py -a NAME list --today).
Microsoft Exchange / Outlook: Azure app registration (public client, redirect http://localhost), delegated permissions Calendars.ReadWrite and User.Read; in config.json add an account with "provider": "microsoft", "client_id", and "tenant": "common". See scripts/README.md for step-by-step.

Other providers (e.g. CalDAV)

If the user uses a calendar provider not supported by the CLI (e.g. iCloud-only CalDAV): use CalDAV client libraries and env-based config. Prefer the gcal CLI for Google and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.
