Keep vector memory lean. Prevent token waste from junk memories.

Every memory gets a confidence score (0.0-1.0). This prevents false assumptions and helps resolve conflicts.

How to apply:

  • memory_store: set importance to match confidence score
  • File-based memories: tag inline with [c:0.9] or [c:0.6]
  • When recalling a memory below 0.7: flag as uncertain, don't state as fact
  • When two memories conflict: trust the higher-confidence one
  • During maintenance: purge memories below 0.3, review memories 0.3-0.5

What to Store (Intentionally)

Storage Guidelines

When using memory_store:

  • Keep text concise (<100 words)
  • Use appropriate category: preference, fact, decision, entity, other
  • Set importance to match confidence (0.7-1.0 for valuable, verified info)
  • One concept per memory entry
  • Include the confidence tag in text: [c:0.9]
  • Include date context when relevant: "(Feb 5, 2026)"
  • Write memories as statements, not questions

Maintenance Checklist

Run periodically (weekly or monthly):

  1. Audit: memory_recall query="*" limit=50 and scan for junk
  2. Purge junk: Delete heartbeat logs, transient info, duplicates
